Special about Ayswal (Part One)

Today, we open a new section in Young Guns Music, "New Bands". The same way we show international bands in Spain, now we want to do on the contrary, and show Spanish bands to the world. Periodically, we will do Specials as this one, hoping yo like it and you open your mind to new sounds and trends.

Ayswal are four young men from Andalusia, who decided to create an alternative rock band. They are:

  • Gon, singer and guitarist of the band, a bit pessimist and shy, who loses that shyness when he introduces his songs or covers.
  • Jaime, bassist and second voice. Lost in his own world when it is time to play, he sinks into music.
  • Óscar, keyboardist, life of the band, if Óscar is missing, the joy in the stage is missing.
  • And behind the drums, there is Víctor, who set the beat and the rhythm in Ayswal.

We can set the beginning of this band in 2008, thanks to Jaime and Víctor, who started to play and decided to form a band. They also called Gon to join them. They started to practice with strong influences from bands like Panic! at the disco or Fall Out Boy, but they knew they needed something to give them energy. Then came Óscar.

With the four of them in a band, they started to write their own songs and practice with covers of their favorite bands. Their first original song was Lady, a metaphoric ballad about a man and a bottle of alcohol. Their first show was in a club called Mandrágora, in their hometown, Puerto Real (Cádiz), a big deal for a band with only six months of history.

And so, Ayswal have been growing as a band, and now they even dare to cover song of bands like Muse, Avenged Sevenfold or Katy Perry in their shows, apart of their own songs, like: “He Thinks That” , “Part of one, a Little of all”, “Sometimes you just loose yourself”, “Thousand of hats were walking, I was the boy of the drum”, “Lullaby” ... This last one was their second ballad, more personal and professional, replacing "Lady", and favorite of most of their audience. You can find all them in their blog: http://ayswal.blogspot.com/ .

Their first show out of their province was in Seville, in January 2010. And this summer has been pretty busy for the band, but they have a fall and winter pretty similar too. We leave you with two of their most popular songs, enjoy them!
