Young Guns Music interviews Evarose (English)

Young Guns Music loves bringing to you the greatest upcoming bands and now it's time for an all girl punk pop band. They come from England and they sound fresh and strong.

Evarose is composed of Dannika (vocals), Imogen (guitar/vocals), Connie (bass) and Robyn (drums). We've talked to them about their music, present and future projects and this is what they've told us about.


- Young Guns Music : Thank you very much girls for letting us know a bit more about your band. First thing which comes to our mind right now is, for all our readers who are just meeting you for the first time, how would you describe Evarose and its music?

Evarose : We are a four piece female rock pop band formed in early 2010. We just love to write and play and we hope you love it too.


- YGM : Some people tend to think that an all-girl band has something of marketing on it. Is it difficult to fight the stigma? Do you usually find it an obstacle or a stimulus in the music business?

E : It has its pros and cons same as everything but we don’t see ourselves as anything other than a regular band in that sense. We came together and formed just like any band would.
You can’t tell by listening to a song that we’re all female, only that we have female vocals.





- YGM : When you describe Evarose you talk about "creating something unique and personal". Could you say that you've done it?

E : We write about our own lives and we play with passion, every performance is personal. We’re all the best of friends and it does feel like we’re sharing something with everyone who listens.
We have a lot to give and we wouldn’t give anything but 100%, so yeah I think we do.


- YGM : How was the experience of recording "We Can Pretend Anyway" video? Was people's reaction to it as expected?

E : It was our first ever video and we had no idea what to expect ourselves. We had so much fun and we have a lot of fun with everything that we do. The video is just light hearted and it’s gone down as well as we could want, we have a lot of support from fans.





- YGM : We will be able to see you at next Hit The Deck Festival in Nottingham, what can we expect from your show?

E : As for any show we give it our all and hope people enjoy themselves.


- YGM : For those of us who have listened to your debut EP "Creation Divide" we can say that we are eager of more, any plans for a long lenght?

E : Yeah definitely, we try and find the time to write as much as possible and we have a collection of tracks that we’re working on but it’s all a working progress, you’ll have to be patient J


- YGM : Why is it "Cough It Up" an extra track? We were quite surprised about it because for us is the hit among all your tracks.

E : We were eager to get people to hear our music so we decided to record another song after already recording our EP. ‘Cough It Up’ is still on our website to download for free and we’ve made a music video for it too. It is a strong track and we’re glad it’s popular.





- YGM : Which are your sooner future plans?

E : We’re playing as many shows as possible this summer and have a pretty lengthy tour booked with the band Atlas&i which will be great. We just want people to hear about us and to get to know what we’re about J


- YGM : According to the present marketing, is there any future for the music further than Justin Bieber?

E : No one artist is going to provide musical satisfaction to everyone.
We might be a lot of people’s cup of tea and others we’re not. There is a huge variety out there; you can make your own future depending on how hard you’re willing to work.





- YGM : Although Evarose has not yet been long in the music business we are sure that you've already been through many unforgettable times. Which are your best memories up to now?

E : Dancing with a lady wearing mainly nipple tassels was funny. Crowds have really surprised us and the amount of support had been incredible!


- YGM : How would you convince any reader who's knowing about you for the first time to give a try to your music?

E : All music is worth a try, but we may just surprise you….
