If you have watched Tokio Hotel latest DVD release "Caught on Camera" you may have noticed it. The boys wondered what the reaction of their fans to the first listening of their latest album would be if they were able to get a cam in their bedrooms. What if that were possible? What would happen if their dream came true?.

This is exactly what Sara and Aixa from Spain want to do. They are the web-misstresses of World Fan Action the tool to help them to make dreams true for the four members of Tokio Hotel. But they can´t do it all alone. They need you. Your help is essential wherever you are. That´s why they have set off this project via web to coordinate all efforts :

We have had the chance to interview both of them to know a bit more about the development of this great project so the first question is clear, what is the aim of the Fan Action?.


Sara : It´s just a response to Bill Kaulitz´s wish in their DVD (Caught on Camera). He said that the style of their brand new album would be slightly different and that they had no idea what the reaction of fans would be. They said it would be great to have a cam in each bedroom to watch fans´ reactions when they listened to the album for the first time. So wish granted!.

Aixa : Just by compiling the best moments from fans´ reaction to the latest release from Tokio Hotel while they listen to it for the first time.

Sara : And then make a video with all best moments of each song.

Aixa : Since we watched the DVD Caught on Camera the idea started to be worked on till it grew into what now is the World Fan Action.

I´m sure that many of you had the same idea. Many surely thought of recording themselves and then send it to the members of Tokio Hotel. And this is exactly what Sara and Aixa want to do. Collect all your recordings, make a video with them and send it to them. But this must mean quite a hard working, isn´t it?.

Aixa : The preparations are the most important part of the Fan Action and we put a lot of work on them, paying close attention and care. Just beacuse it´s a worldwide action we have to think every little detail so when we finally start it we can face any kind of problem and everything turns out a success.
Apart from both of us ruling the action we have three different teams (Promotion, Translation and Edition), composed of people from many countries who volunteered to take part and help (and we owe so much to them!).

Sara : We thought that what they wanted could be possible. Many fans thought the same. We had just finished a smaller action and we wanted to attempt a bigger one. We have been promoting as much as we could so everyone knew what we were on. The web has 7.000 visits in two months from fans from all over the world. Once and another we got mails volunteering to translate the Fan Action to their languages. Now the web is in Spanish, German, English, French, Italian, Finnish, Portuguese, Russian, Polish and even Chinese.
When I think about it it seems quite crazy to me. I mean, there´s so many people involved, this is so great and sometimes it scares. But we want it so much and so much effort... Hope everything comes true!

Aixa : To take part in the Fan Action what Tokio Hotel fans have to do is just put the cam on, forget about it and start listening to the album. When they finish, turn it off and send us the recording, where all their reactions to the songs and emotions will be in it.
Once we have all of them, we will gather them in short clips so that in the end we have one video for each song, where all reactions from fans will be shown.

Sara : However, as the release of the album is thought to be in May or June we are now working on the trailer. It´ll the same but just with one song, the single. We´ll give a couple of days to send the videos and we´ll do the rest. This will help to promote the Fan Action itself and to show we are on the way. Let´s see what happens!.





It sounds interesting. And quite a lot complicated. But these girls seem to have everything under control. That´s the way to work. The worst part as always is to ask for support and help to fulfil the task. Many people come when everything is done but not many when the work is still awaiting.Is it being like that? What kind of supports are you getting?

Aixa : As we have previously said we have several teams of volunteers who collaborate and help in every stage of the action. Besides, there are many people who without being in any of the teams are also willing to help.

Sara : Talking about "physical" tools, we´ve got the web and a private forum for the edition, promotion and translation teams.
About the Edition team (about 12 persons) I have previously mentioned that they´ll be responsible for the editiong of the videos sent to us. The Promotion team, as the name says will promote the Fan Action. We´re about 5 persons but the rest of teams help. In the Translation team about 8 persons help with the languages (Aixa with the English and myself with the Spanish version).
Apart from those directly involved in any of the teams, we have great support from fans all over the world. From Spain to Australia and those from the USA, Canada, South America, Czech Republic, Moldavia, the Netherlands, France, Italy, Germany. And even Indonseia, China or Japan. Amazing!

Aixa : In my opinion, the most difficult part will be when we have all videos and we start to mix them up... We still don´t know if there´ll be 50 or 500, we have to organize everything in advance and specify every piece of work so that everything comes out perfectly!

Sara : The website! So many problems we have had to launch the present version.
Now seriously, the most difficult thing is to convince people to take part. To organize it is not as difficult as it seems, just thinking and never leave loose ends. But when we tell people, "We got some new Fan Action"...Many do not have any objection but many other do. There must have been some hundreds, I would dare to say, of Fan Actions about Tokio Hotel and I don´t remember more than twice that they have said anything about them in an interview. Some of them is clear that it´s quite difficult for them to see the result of them, it means thousands of videos which they have no time to watch but other, although they got news about them we don´t really know if they have paid any attention. That´s why many people doubt about taking part in this. They usually ask how we are going to make this get directly to them. We can´t give many details about this, at least not yet... But they can be sure that the boys will know what´s being done and that they´ll get the final result.
And I suppose that another important feature will be to mix all videos up. To coordinate who has which video, not to miss any, that everything goes as it has to... I don´t think it´ll be easy at all. But I´m sure it´s worth efforting.





I hope that everything follows this path along the Fan Action. The release date is approaching and all kind of help is needed. But I´m sure that one of the results of the Fan Action which will be highly expected is that of the reaction of fans and members of the band to the video. Which do you think would be?

Sara : Up to now it´s being quite good. There´s always someone embarrased enough to record herself or who doesn´t see this clear. It´s usual. But it´s ok. They are accepting this idea quite in a good mood. We have no idea of what the final result will be. I mean, many are interested now but perhaps not when the day comes, or they have no cam or they just forget about it. So I prefer to wait to say anything. Time will say.

Aixa : We wish that everything goes the same as it is going now, with this great acceptance and support from so many fans, enthusiasm and willing to take part!.
About the boys, we hope that they like the Fan Action, mainly because it´s directed to their work, their music. It´ll be a feddback that we hope they will like, as in fact it was them who had the idea!.

Sara : The truth is that they usually ignore Fan Actions. They say thanks and that all, but...I don´t know, I think all of us want them to see our work and thank it and all that. But it hasn´t to be so.
This time it´s not a Fan Action to support Georg, Tom, Bill or Gustav. It´s not any kind of Fan Action where we all say how much we love them and that kind of things. This time we support the band, their music. And it´s supposed to be what they love most in life, their music. Besides, they showed an interest on something like this, didn´t they?. So I believe they will like it. And that make us want to work harder.





I wish that the boy´s answer will be as positive as this action deserves. I´m sure that Tokio Hotel will know how to thank you for all this great work. What are you working on right now?

Aixa : Right now we´re with what could be called the "pre-action". As the album comes out in May/June and the release of the first single is being soon, we´ll gather all videos related to it and we´ll make a video with them which will be some kind of trailer for the action itself.

Sara : Once we got it people will be able to see what we are going to do, if they like or not...They will be able to check that we´ll go on with it. Perhaps the trailer makes someone be sure about taking part!.





I´m sure about it. But we consider that as every fan from the band you won´t be just awaiting the album for the Fan Action. I´m sure you´ll be looking forward to listening to the brand new Tokio Hotel release. You and all Spanish fans. It´s obvious that all Spain is awaiting the date.

Aixa : As everything related to Tokio Hotel, everyone is nervous and so much wanting to listen to it. The band has a great fanbase here in Spain in good or bad times, sometimes even going too further supporting them!.

Sara : I believe that Tokio Hotel golden age in Spain ended with Monsoon, now everything is more relaxed concerning to number of fans. And about the fans quality, to say some way, there are many ranges. I really wish that this is a great album and that we´ll be able to see them live many times in our country. We´ve had several relaxed months but as time goes by people are more and more nervous, there´s no date and everything is messing.





Not so many days till the final date. While Tokio Hotel finishes the recording of the tracks for their brand new album, the World Fan Action is growing. And I´m sure that Sara and Aixa want to encourage you to be part of it.
