The upcoming punk pop band New Years Day comes from Anaheim, California (US). Leaded by female singer Ashley Costello (Ash) together with bassist Adam Lohrbach, guitarist/keyboardist Keith Drover, guitarist Mike Schoolden and drummer Russell Dixon, it was formed in 2005.
They soon started promoting via MySpace and gigging around. Although they received offers from Pete Wentz´s label Decaydance, they signed with TVT and in November 2006 they released their self titled digital EP, also known as the Razor EP.

The EP was later released by TVT.
In 2007 they recorded their debut studio album, My Dear, including collaborations from Reel Big Fish and Motion City Soundtrack.
