La banda británica McFly actuó el pasado 6 de Junio de 2010 en el festival Rock in Rio en Madrid. Aquí tenéis algunos videos de su actuación.

¿Por qué votar a Fighting The Villain como Grupo del Mes?

Fighting The Villain es un grupo de rock alternativo de Hayward, California. Liderado por la cantante Caitlyn Mae junto con Miguel Perez (Guitarra), Cisco Estrada (Guitarra), Danny Brown (Batería) y Travis Knutz (Bajo).




Comenzando haciendo música para videojuegos, Fighting the Villain empezó como un grupo de amigos en el instituto. A principio de 2008 el grupo se asienta definitivamente y publica su primer EP “Turn to the Ruins”, con dos temas "What´s Left" and "Turning Heel". Consiguieron una actuación en el Vans Warped Tour en San Francisco, y aquí comenzó todo. Aaron Axelsen, Director de Live 105 se hizo con su EP e inmediatamente lo puso en antena. Su single “What’s Left” se convirtió en una de las cinco canciones más solicitadas en los meses de Septiembre, Octubre y Noviembre de 2008. Les ofrecieron entonces tocar en el Live 105’s BFD, uno de los festivales anuales más importantes de Bay Area, el 6 de Junio de 2009 junto con grupos de renombre como The Offspring, 311 y The Yeah Yeah Yeahs.

Siguiendo con la racha de éxitos, firmaron con Popsmear Records y en 2009 el grupo grabó su segundo EP con el título de “First Impression”.

Después de una gira que les ha llevado a tocar en directo a lo largo del país y con nuevo material a punto de ver la luz Fighting The Villain se prepara para conquistar el mundo en 2010.

Why to vote for Fighting The Villain as Band of the Month? (English)

Fighting The Villain is an alternative rock band from Hayward, California. Fronted by female singer Caitlyn Mae together with Miguel Perez (Guitar), Cisco Estrada (Guitar), Danny Brown (Drums) and Travis Knutz (Bass).




Starting out making video game music, Fighting the Villain started as a group of friends from high school, bored with the usual drama. At the start of 2008 is when the band got serious and they released their first EP “Turn to the Ruins”, a two tracks EP with "What´s Left" and "Turning Heel". They got a spot on The Vans Warped Tour in San Francisco, and it seemed like this was just the beginning. Aaron Axelsen, Music Director of Live 105 got hold of their EP and immediately gave them airplay. Their single “What’s Left” became the top 5 most requested song in September, October, and November of 2008. The band got offered to play Live 105’s BFD, one of the biggest annual music festivals in the Bay Area, on June 6, 2009 along with many well known bands such as; The Offspring, 311 and The Yeah Yeah Yeahs.

Following the buzz that they were receiving, they signed to Popsmear Records and in 2009 the band recorded their sophomore EP titled “First Impression”.

Since then the band has been getting a great amount of support. They have been getting numerous amounts of airplay from radio stations all over the US, from NY, OH, NC and of course CA. In December of ’09, the band released their first music video for their first single “What’s Left”





With touring being planned for all 2010 and with new material coming out later that year, 2010 is the year for Fighting The Villain to break out of the Bay Area scene and unleash their talent on the world.

Lanzamientos de The Young Veins y AM Taxi

Junio es el mes de los lanzamientos, y es fácil darse cuenta si vemos que todavía nos quedan los discos de VersaEmerge o de Automatic Loveletter por llegar (ambos el 22 de Junio), y así, hoy tenemos en las tiendas dos discos que prometen removernos las entrañas desde dos perspectivas totalmente diferentes.


En primer lugar, AM Taxi, la banda de Chicago que mezcla magistralmente el rock de la vieja escuela con el sonido de esta nueva era de la música saca a la luz su primer álbum, "We don't stand a chance".


Y además, The Young Veins, la mitad de Panic! at the disco que se separó el pasado verano, lanza hoy su primer disco "Take a Vacation!", el sonido pop vintage traido directamente desde los 60

June is the month for releases, everybody may notice that since we have VersaEmerge's or Automatic Loveletter's albums still to come (both on 22nd), and so, today we have in stores two albums that will blow our minds.


First at all, AM Taxi, the band from Chicago which mix the old school rock sound with the new era of music release their first album, "We don't stand a chance".


And what's more, The Young Veins, the half of Panic! at the disco that split ways last summer, release today their first album "Take a Vacation!", a vintage pop sound brought directly from the 60's.
